A casque hat is more of a piece of material pinned to the hair. It never covers the wearer’s head completely and is more of a decorative item. Its most basic form is a headband or a clip that keeps the hair in place. At times decorations such as bows, floral arrangements, feathers, or fur are added to beautify the hat.
Casque hat is worn by women, at an angle or on one side of the head with at least some of the hair show. At times, it is similar to a smaller beret that doesn’t cover the head completely.
It is more of a decorative hat or a fashion accessory, and therefore, there is no practical use of the hat. It is worn on formal occasions and therefore matches the color of the dress it is worn with.
