A Tyrolean Hat has its origins in the Tryol region in the Alps mountains, and therefore, it is naturally a cold-weather hat. It has a crown tapering to a point and a hand-sized brim.

There is a spiraling colored cord known as the hatband that is tied around the crown for decorating the hat. This cord is made from the chamois goat’s beard’s hair. Further, the hat is decorated with an arrangement of flower feathers on the crown’s one side.

There can be slight variations among the hat styles; some Tyrolean Hats have a folded brim at the back and a bent down brim at the front, while others have a level brim all around.
