The popular culture pointed hat worn by witches in stories, movies, and plays has popularly come to be known as the Witches Hat. The crown is very tall and pointed and sometimes even bends backward, while the brim is circular and flat.
At times, the crown is decorated with a ribbon or a belt with a square buckle on it. The most common color of a Witches Hat is black; however other colors such as purple and blue are also popular.
Although associated with women, the Witches Hats have also been worn by men in many productions where they play magicians or wizards.
