Tubeteika is the Russian term or category for caps worn in Central Asia. Most time, these caps are similar to the skull caps worn by Muslim men; however, there are different shapes of the caps categorized under the term Tubeteika.
Some of the common types are a rounded skull cap with a pointed crown, or a 4-paneled brimless cap, again with a pointed crown. In colder regions, the headband is lined with heavy fur on the outside.
Tubeteika is very prevalent in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. People of Turkic ethnicity wear a Tubeteika in some parts of Russia.
