A trapper hat is a warm fur hat made from wool and wool alternatives. It has a rounded brimless crown covering the head properly and the earflaps coming out of it at the bottom. Further, the hat’s back is slightly longer to cover the neck. Finally, the part covering the forehead is generally made of fur and is of a contrasting color or the same color as the hat’s inner fur lining.
The shape is very similar to an aviator hat; however, it is made from fur and therefore used for cold protection. These are known as trapper hats because they trap the warmth inside, keeping the wearer warm. These are good for several winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding or for casual wear.
