A Sailor Cap is a round, structured, and flat-top crown cap without a visor. The base has a black ribbon tied around it and is known as a Tally. The Tally has the ship or the navy name inscribed on it.
The Tally is tied in different ways by different navies. German navies tied it at the back and let the two pieces fall onto the shoulders as an ornament. The British navy tied it into a bow above the left ear.
Further, the Sailor cap is decorated with a cockade or a badge at the center in front.
