Kamelaukion is a Christian clergy hat worn by Orthodox Christian and Eastern Catholic monks and clergies. The monks wear a black hat while the clergies wear a red or a purple one.
Kamelaukion is a stiff cylindrical brimless hat with a flat top crown, very similar in shape to a stovepipe hat; however, the shape slightly varies from one country to another.
Greek monks wear a black Kamelaukion with a veil, while clergies wear the one with a flattened conical brim. The Russian variant is taller than the Greek one and has an increasing circumference as it gains height. Even the nuns in Russia wear the Kamelaukion with a veil.
