Chilote Cap is a knitted Beanie like cap made from coarse wool, usually having a pom. As the hat is made from coarse wool, it has a furry look, and fur points also protrude out of the hat. The pattern or the design of the cap varies; however, the most popular style is the alternate colored horizontal stripes.
The cap’s name comes from its origins from the Chiloé Archipelago, a Spanish-speaking group of islands on the coast of Chile. Therefore, the shape is not much different from a beanie; however, the origin defines whether it is a Chilote Caps or not.
Chilote Caps can be worn casually; however, they are trendy in Chile among the farmers, fishermen, and forest workers.
