Canterbury Cap is a cloth had with a square shape, with sharp corners. It is the medieval predecessor of a Biretta and therefore resembles it in many ways. As it is made of soft cloth, it can easily be folded and neatly put in small spaces such as the wearer’s pocket. Further, the soft cloth makes it comfortable to be worn for long hours.

Canterbury Cap is most popular among Anglican churches’ clergies and is worn by them in processions, scripture reading, or while sitting at a homily table. It is more of a traditional cap and is not worn casually.
