A Bergère Hat could be called the younger sister of the Boater Hat. Like a Boater hat, it is made of straw and has a wide brim. However, its most distinctive feature is its crown.

Bergère Hats has an extremely shallow crown, so shallow that it almost appears as a flat symbol-shaped circular straw hat, with a slight bump in the middle. To demarcate the crown’s existence, it is often adorned with ribbons or flowers that makes the hat more decorative and, therefore, appropriate for formal occasions.

The hat’s brim is adjustable and therefore can be worn in various styles such as folded up or down or even pinned up according to the wearer’s fashion preference.
